For me, art and science are the only ways to keep childlike curiosity alive for a lifetime. Ludic creations are born of contentment, while trials and tribulations bring about a state of mind able to conceive the transcendental.

In the artist's words

Bert Andrasfalvy practices sculpture with an emphasis on twisting stone and bending bronze to create works that resemble haikus in their simplicity and focus on essence. The artist's approach is to distill forms to their fundamental nature, avoiding any excess and aiming to evoke contemplation through reduction.

Born in Hungary, in 1970, Bert is a scientist and a self-taught artist who developed sculptural skills experimentally. He lived and worked several years in Japan and in US. In his works, Eastern simplicity goes hand in hand with Western practicality. The artistic path is marked by exploration rather than formal education, experimenting with materials, methods and ideas (like in science), allowing for a personal and direct engagement with materials and eloquent forms.
